"The government faces challenges every day, both at home and abroad," said Philips Vermonte, spokesperson for the Presidential Communication Office (PCO).
He explained that achieving the national economic growth target of 8 percent requires improvements across various sectors.
"We must address our challenges by enhancing competitiveness, improving efficiency, and attracting investment," he noted.
Vermonte emphasized that boosting national competitiveness is key to achieving high and sustainable growth.
In addition to domestic challenges, he pointed out that the global situation also affects national economic stability.
Ongoing international conflicts, such as the wars in the Middle East and Ukraine, impact global energy and food prices, he added.
He also remarked that tensions between the United States and China may contribute to global economic uncertainty.
He said that President Prabowo Subianto has stressed the need to balance domestic strategies and global diplomacy to effectively respond to these challenges.
Vermonte affirmed that the government will continue to enhance efficiency, improve the investment climate, and strengthen relationships with several countries to help maintain economic stability.
"At the same time, the government is striving to improve domestic conditions," he said.
Earlier, Minister of Foreign Affairs Sugiono affirmed that Indonesia will continue to play an active role in global partnerships to support national policies for food sovereignty, energy resilience, and self-sufficiency.
The government is committed to achieving sustainable and inclusive economic growth to attain developed-country status, he stated.
