Denpasar, Bali (ANTARA) - The Bali Provincial Government is set to host the 7th Balinese Language Month on February 1-28, 2025, aiming to engage more young individuals.

Head of the Bali Cultural Office, I Gede Arya Sugiartha, stated on Saturday that this year’s event would primarily leverage digital content to present the Balinese language in a simpler and more accessible way.

"We want to attract more young people to participate in Balinese Language Month. In the past six events, many young people only attended if invited," Sugiartha stated.

This year, his side makes it more appealing with digital content and catchy phrases, utilizing everyday language that is easy to understand.

The Bali Cultural Office is striving to inspire young people to preserve the Balinese language, script, and literature.

Activities during the Balinese Language Month will include creating social media content featuring simple Balinese sentences reflecting daily conversations among peers.

"We are incorporating common phrases into our content, making it easier for young people to relate. The easier it is to understand, the more they will develop a love for the language, writing, and reading in the Balinese script," Sugiartha explained.

The 7th Balinese Language Month is taking place at the Taman Budaya Art Center on February 1-28, 2025, under the theme "Jagat Kerthi-Jagra Hita Samasta."

This theme aims to make Balinese Language Month a platform for celebrating language, script, and literature as a means of raising awareness about the universe.

Acting Governor of Bali, Sang Made Mahendra Jaya, emphasized that Balinese Language Month aims to elevate language, script, and literature as fundamental to the culture.

"Our language, script, and literature are enriched by Hinduism. We cultivate art, customs, social interaction, etiquette, and many other aspects, allowing Balinese culture to thrive," he remarked.
