"The President said that we must also be valiant like other countries that currently have the same approach, with almost the same format. It has also been carried out in developed countries," she added here on Friday.
Irawati said President Prabowo wants to ensure that the free health screening services, set to launch on Monday (February 10, 2025), match those in the US, Canada, and Europe.
She underscored that the program aligns with the government's vision of developing a healthier population to achieve the Golden Indonesia 2045 goal.
"The goal is to carry out early detection to prevent greater health risks in the future," she explained.
This, she said, is also in line with the promise that Prabowo made during the political campaign period, namely health services that are accessible and free for all.
The free health screening services will be provided to 280 million Indonesians in stages to guarantee equitable access to health services.
The program is also part of Asta Cita, the eight main missions of the government under President Prabowo's leadership.
Under the fourth mission, the government has affirmed its commitment to strengthening human resource development, including by improving health services.
It is also one of the eight quick-win programs of the government, after the Free Nutritious Meals program that commenced on January 6.
"With the free health check program, people would be more aware of their health condition from early (on)," she said.
