This commitment was evident during a meeting attended by officials, academicians, and strategic partners from Indonesia and China on Monday (February 17) evening.
"China has advantages in research development that can significantly boost economic growth for both countries," Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology Satryo Soemantri Brodjonegoro noted in the ministry's statement here on Tuesday.
The minister affirmed that the collaboration between Indonesia and China in the higher education sector aligns with President Prabowo Subianto's directive to improve the quality of human resources and the role of higher education in the national economic plan.
Brodjonegoro highlighted that the Indonesian government is focused on strengthening research in universities, with China as a key partner.
Hence, Minister Brodjonegoro expressed hope that cooperation between the two nations will yield tangible benefits and be a long-term investment in economic stability and global advancement.

On the same occasion, Chairman of the National Economic Council (DEN), Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, stated that President Prabowo has reiterated his commitment to continue intensifying the strategic partnership with China.
Both countries have large markets and have realized successful cooperation in infrastructure, trade, and education.
Pandjaitan noted that Indonesia and China are committed to prioritizing mutual understanding and cooperation amid the current global political landscape.
"The age of technological advancement is opening up endless opportunities. Through comprehensive collaboration, we can utilize this potential for our shared progress," he remarked.
As of 2024, some 761 cooperation agreements have been established between universities in the two countries, encompassing lecturer and student exchanges, joint research, curriculum development, and training.
One of the cooperation programs between China and Indonesia is "1+10+100+1000," which includes establishing new energy vehicle technology study programs, holding professional skills competitions, conducting technical training, and providing one thousand scholarships for Indonesian students.
