"We will focus on overseeing the disbursement of JKP and JHT (benefits). This is needed by those workers," he conveyed in a press conference on Wednesday.
He also highlighted President Prabowo Subianto's recent initiative to protect laid-off workers and laborers through Government Regulation Number 6 of 2025, which boosts the JKP benefits to 60 percent of the previous salary for six months.
"We will optimize this regulation, and we will open a help desk to assist laid-off employees for the administrative process of JHT and JKP disbursement," the minister remarked.
Furthermore, his side would collaborate with the national health insurer (BPJS Health) and Manpower Service in Solo, where PT Sritex operated.
Speaking in connection with the Eid Allowance targeted for over 10 thousand workers, Yassierli highlighted that currently, the curator has expressed its commitment to ensuring the fulfillment of the workers' rights.
"The curator is committed to paying THR with our monitoring as well," he noted.
Regarding the discourse of the Sritex Curator Team intending to re-employ the laid-off employees by providing an offer option to investors, the minister expressed readiness to support and oversee further the technical mechanism.
"We will work with the curator to coordinate the technical mechanism. Most importantly, the curator should be committed to reopening the factory and re-employing the laid-off employees," Yassierli remarked.
He revealed that several investors are interested in taking over Sritex's operations, with the curator tasked with selecting the most suitable one.
"The Manpower Ministry will oversee the commitment and form a team to monitor it," the minister stated.
In October 2024, the Semarang Commercial Court declared the company bankrupt.
In January 2022, Sritex was sued by one of its creditors, CV Prima Karya, which filed for a suspension of debt payment obligations.
The Semarang Commercial Court granted the Postponement of Debt Payment Obligations (PKPU) lawsuit against Sritex and three other textile companies.
Later, Sritex was sued by PT Indo Bharat Rayon for failing to fulfill the agreed debt payment obligations.
Founded in 1966, the company is renowned for its export products, including military uniforms for several countries.
