The collaboration was marked by the ministry signing memoranda of understanding (MoUs) with the Ministry of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection, the Ministry of Population and Family Development, and Statistics Indonesia (BPS) in Jakarta on Thursday.
The ministry also inked MoUs with the National Alms Agency (Baznas), Diponegoro University (Undip), and Open University (UT).
Indonesian Migrant Worker Protection Minister Abdul Kadir Karding said that the collaboration will be carried out in line with the mandate of President Prabowo Subianto, namely making efforts from upstream to downstream to protect migrant workers and improve their quality.
The ministry's collaboration with Statistics Indonesia will seek to strengthen the data on migrant workers, including those pursuing apprenticeships abroad, held by BPS and the ministry.
Karding emphasized that worker data is very important to protect Indonesian citizens abroad.
In addition, the ministry will work with the Ministry of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection to empower women and protect migrant workers' children and families.
Meanwhile, with the Ministry of Population and Family Development, it will seek to provide services to build the resilience of migrant workers' families and economically empower them.
Furthermore, the ministry will cooperate with Baznas in capacity building, economic empowerment, social and humanity, education, da'wah, and the improvement of the health of Indonesian migrant workers and their families.
Meanwhile, with Undip and UT, the ministry will collaborate in the fields of education, teaching, research, and community services.
