Jakarta (ANTARA) - National Development Planning Minister Rachmat Pambudy underscored that cooperation with the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) as a development partner is crucial for Indonesia's infrastructure development programs.

This partnership aligns with the country’s sustainable investment strategy to achieve national development targets outlined in the 2025–2029 National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN).

“Collaboration with development partners, such as the AIIB, is crucial in terms of funding, enhancing capacity building, and facilitating knowledge transfer to support various infrastructure development programs," he stated at a meeting with AIIB President Jin Liqun here on Wednesday, according to a statement.

During the meeting, both parties discussed infrastructure funding strategies and the role of the private sector in supporting investment in various strategic projects.

AIIB is considered to have experience in non-government financing in Indonesia, supporting efforts to expand funding sources and increase the efficiency of project implementation.

In addition to physical infrastructure, the cooperation includes strengthening other sectors contributing to sustainable development, such as education, digitalization, and agriculture.

Pambudy highlighted that effective development depends not only on the financing aspect but also on innovation and synergy between various stakeholders.

"The government continues to enhance cooperation with various development partners to ensure infrastructure projects are designed and executed with high standards," he remarked.

The minister ensured that he would continue to ensure development planning is carried out with a strategic and integrated approach to realize development that is more inclusive and sustainable and has a broader impact on the national economy.

Collaboration with development partners is deemed able to strengthen the sustainable development ecosystem through the exchange of expertise, innovation, and best practices.

"With strong synergy, various initiatives can be optimized to achieve more effective results and generate a greater impact on society," the minister stated.
