The Vice Presidential Secretariat informed in Jakarta on Sunday that Prabowo and Gibran would perform the annual prayer alongside several ministers from the Red and White Cabinet, including Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono.
After the prayer, the president and vice president will proceed to the Merdeka Palace for an Eid al-Fitr gathering, which is set to begin at around 9 a.m. local time.
VP Gibran has no plans to host a similar event either at his palace or his private residence, according to his secretariat.
Deputy for Protocol, Press, and Media at the Presidential Secretariat, Yusuf Permana, has provided details on the planned gathering, saying that President Prabowo has invited former presidents and former vice presidents to the Merdeka Palace.
Additionally, the head of state has also invited state officials, ambassadors, representatives from international organizations, religious figures, and community leaders, he added.
"This event serves as a national friendly gathering, intended to build a sense of togetherness while celebrating the day of victory," Permana pointed out.
These plans align with the Eid al-Fitr date announcement made by Religious Affairs Minister Nasaruddin Umar on Saturday (March 29).
Umar, who concurrently serves as the grand imam of Istiqlal Mosque, stated that the government had decided to round the number of this year's Ramadan days to 30 in respect to the results of the observation of the height of the crescent moon across Indonesia.
Thus, the 2025 Ramadan month will end on Sunday, followed by Eid al-Fitr, marking the beginning of the Syawwal month, on Monday.
