Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Jakarta Transportation Office said it will prepare for high visitor numbers expected at tourist sites on the second day of Eid al-Fitr 2025.

"Starting from April 1, we need to anticipate several tourist locations in Jakarta such as Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII), Ragunan Zoo, Kota Tua (Old Town area), National Monument (Monas), Ancol, and the PIK (Pantai Indah Kapuk) area,” the office head, Syafrin Liputo, remarked here on Monday.

Liputo stated that visitors were expected to throng these tourist destinations at that time.

To address this matter, his side is collaborating with the police and military personnel to implement traffic management.

“For instance, one-way traffic will be implemented towards Ragunan Zoo from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. local time. In the afternoon, the same one-way system will be applied for (vehicles) exiting Ragunan towards TB Simatupang,” he elaborated.

Meanwhile, Liputo indicated that the traffic scheme management at other tourist sites will be adjusted based on real-time conditions.

“For instance, if congestion occurs in Ancol, we will regulate toll road access by restricting the entry and exit points,” he remarked.

However, he emphasized that these measures are situational and depend on conditions in the field.

Similar arrangements will apply to the PIK area, which is a new tourist destination.

“Whenever there is a national holiday or long holiday, the PIK area usually becomes very crowded with visitors,” Liputo remarked.

He urged the public to adapt to these conditions and consider alternative routes when the one-way system is in place at tourist locations.

Liputo confirmed that around 2,800 personnel from the Jakarta Transportation Office would be deployed during the Eid holiday period.

“We will work together with the police and the military, as well as with the Public Security and Order Agency (Satpol PP),” he stated.
