"Let us make this spirit of Eid al-Fitr a motivation to be wiser in caring for the earth, reducing waste, and maintaining the balance of the ecosystem," Hanif noted in his statement on Monday.
The minister is optimistic that during the Eid al-Fitr 1446 Hijri celebration, everyone will experience joy and peace and that all their good deeds will be recognized.
In particular, he expressed hope that the Eid holiday also inspires enthusiasm and resilience in all individuals to continue their efforts in protecting and preserving nature, which is a shared mandate.
"For a better future for our generations," Hanif stated.
The Ministry of Religious Affairs has announced that the first day of Shawwal 1446 Hijri of Eid al-Fitr falls on Monday (March 31, 2025).
President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka performed this year's Eid al-Fitr prayer at the Istiqlal Mosque, Jakarta.
In addition to the president and vice president, other ministers and deputy ministers from the Red and White Cabinet were present.
In the sermon for the Eid al-Fitr prayer, Professor and Vice Chancellor of the Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic University (UIN) Jakarta, Ahmad Tholabi Kharlie, said that Eid al-Fitr is a manifestation of kindness towards others.
He stated that fasting, observed by Muslims during the holy month of Ramadhan, is aimed at not only enhancing the spirituality of individuals but also serving as social capital in fostering a better social order.
