Jakarta (ANTARA) - Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani Indrawati highlighted that the government had mobilized the state budget (APBN) to contribute to the development of tourist attractions and toll roads across Indonesia.

In her Instagram post, cited here on Wednesday, the minister drew attention to a tourist area along the Kesek River in Kendal District, Central Java Province, which received Rp250 million (US$15 thousand) from the APBN as authorized capital.

"This tourist attraction offers a variety of activities we can enjoy, such as learning how to make palm sugar," she noted.

Indrawati remarked that the tourist area had generated economic benefits for the residents of Sriwulan Village since its launch in May 2022.

In a separate post, the minister stated that the APBN also contributed to the construction of the Batang-Semarang Toll Road, which is notable for its red-colored bridge stretching above the Kuto River.

"The Batang-Semarang Toll Road is part of the Trans Java Toll Road and spans 75 kilometers across Batang District, Kendal District, and Semarang City. This infrastructure has allowed for enhanced connectivity with shorter travel durations," she said.

While not disclosing the APBN allocation amount, the minister noted that the toll road was developed through a public-private partnership.

Meanwhile, in a post uploaded on March 30, the state treasurer remarked that as of March 20, 2025, the state had utilized Rp906.24 billion (US$54.2 million) to develop the Padang-Sicincin Toll Road in West Sumatra Province.

She noted that the 35.9-kilometer toll road, which reduces travel time by approximately 25 minutes, was temporarily opened to ease traffic during the 2025 Eid al-Fitr holiday season.

"The good news is that Eid travelers can pass through the Padang-Sicincin Toll Road free of charge during this year's Eid period," she stated.
