In a text message on Wednesday, he noted that each SPPG must provide food to three thousand to four thousand beneficiaries to open a new emerging market.
He informed that the three main personnel at each SPPG, namely the SPPG head, nutritionist, and accountant, are employed by the BGN and are paid using the state budget.
"Meanwhile, those working in the SPPG, such as (those) providing help in cooking and others, or those who become volunteers, are paid using the operational funds provided by the BGN," he said.
In addition, the opportunity for economic growth will be felt by raw material distributors because each SPPG requires at least 15 new distributors, he added.
Furthermore, the program is also expected to provide opportunities for entrepreneurs or foundations to gain greater benefits by registering as partners.
Hindayana said that the MBG program is a strategic step for the Indonesian nation and a major investment to improve the quality of human resources because the country's population is still growing by 6 people per minute, 3 million per year, and is projected to reach 324 million by 2045.
The Indonesian government officially launched the Free Nutritious Meals Program on January 6, 2025, as one of the main programs of President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka for their 2024–2029 term.
Through the program, the government aims to improve the nutritional intake of children under five, pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, and schoolchildren up to high school level.
