Responding to questions about his vision for Indonesia, Prabowo emphasized that his government has prioritized food self-sufficiency, water availability, and energy security.
"I believe the United Nations has recognized the importance of these issues. A few years ago, the UN stated that a future global crisis would stem from the availability of food, energy, and water," he remarked.
On water management, the president described Indonesia's abundant water resources as both a blessing and a challenge.
"Indonesia is blessed with an abundance of water, so much so that we sometimes face flooding. This situation has challenged us to ensure that water becomes a source of benefit rather than disaster," he explained.
He emphasized that Indonesia should ensure access to quality education and uphold good governance for effective management of water resources.
In his address, the president also underscored the importance of technological mastery and scientific progress in a nation’s pursuit of prosperity.
"Science and technology will lead us to industrialization. For this reason, it is critical that we invest in education, science, and technology," he stated.
Prabowo also introduced the Free Nutritious Meals program as a key initiative aimed at building a healthy and productive future generation by improving the nutritional intake of children and pregnant women.
He informed the audience that the Indonesian government aims to provide free nutritious meals to nearly 83 million beneficiaries by November 2025.
Prabowo stressed his commitment to implementing the program to lower poverty rates and eliminate malnutrition and hunger nationwide.
He was accompanied by Foreign Affairs Minister Sugiono and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya during the high-level annual forum, which this year carries the theme "Reclaiming Diplomacy in a Fragmented World."
Prabowo is scheduled to meet with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi in Cairo after participating in the forum.
