"Jordan wields cutting-edge technology in the field of agriculture, and we are keen to learn from them. I brought the agriculture minister on this visit, and I hope concrete actions will follow all the things we discussed," he remarked.
The president made this statement following a meeting with King Abdullah II of Jordan at Al Husseiniya Palace, where they witnessed the signing of three MoUs and one defense pact by their respective ministers.
Indonesian Agriculture Minister Andi Amran Sulaiman and his Jordanian counterpart, Khaled Musa Al Henefat, signed the MoU on agricultural cooperation.
Before the signing, the two agriculture ministers held a preliminary meeting on the same day to explore ways to mutually advance their countries' agriculture sectors.
"Indonesia is ready to share its experiences and strengthen its relations with Jordan to improve the agriculture sectors of both nations," Sulaiman noted in a statement received in Jakarta on Tuesday.
During the meeting, Sulaiman and Al Henefat exchanged views on enhancing bilateral trade in agricultural commodities and discussed opportunities for collaboration on creative innovations to bolster food security in their countries.
"This meeting marks the first step towards stronger collaboration, which is expected to bring tangible benefits to farmers and matters related to food security in both countries," he stated.
The Jordanian minister expressed interest in learning more about Indonesia's best practices and strengths in agriculture.
In response, Sulaiman invited Al Henefat to send a delegation to Indonesia for further discussions.
