After the meeting held on Monday, Indonesian Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Pratikno stated that the two discussed various strategic issues related to bilateral cooperation between Indonesia and Malaysia across multiple sectors.
"There was a discussion about enhancing economic cooperation, especially in the Batam-Johor regions," he remarked.
The meeting also highlighted the halal industry, with both countries—home to Southeast Asia's largest Muslim populations—agreeing to deepen collaboration in developing a sustainable halal sector.
Furthermore, the vice president and the deputy prime minister discussed the protection of Indonesian migrant workers.
In this regard, Pratikno affirmed that both countries are committed to intensifying the implementation of a one-channel system to ensure safer and more systematic Indonesian workforce distribution.

Cooperation in the palm oil sector was also addressed. He noted that the two countries plan to strengthen collaboration to face global challenges related to this industry.
In the field of education, the minister highlighted that the two agreed to expand cooperation through the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) program, with Malaysia planning to send its students to study in various universities and technology institutes in Indonesia.
On tourism, he noted that the Malaysian government had expressed interest in promoting tourism in Indonesia as part of the Visit Malaysia Year 2026 initiative.
The meeting further covered maritime cooperation, particularly the protection of fishers in border waters, and enhancing agricultural cooperation.
In religious affairs, he further said, the leaders also discussed accommodation cooperation for Hajj and Umrah pilgrims in Saudi Arabia and strengthening moderate Islamic education between the two countries.
Finally, both nations reaffirmed their joint commitment to support the Palestinian cause fully.
