At the Global Security Forum (GSF) in Doha, on Wednesday (April 30), the agency’s Deputy for International Cooperation, Andhika Chrisnayudhanto, stated that the threat of terrorism in Indonesia persists, even after the dissolution of the radical organization Jamaah Islamiyah (JI).
"A balanced approach prevents potential threats that have not disappeared after the disbandment of JI as well as the trend of lone wolf threats and youth radicalization," Andhika noted in his statement.
He said the BNPT will continue to engage with thousands of former JI members and ensure that those not involved in the declaration are informed of its end.

Meanwhile, Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani discussed the influence of non-state entities that support criminal networks by exploiting the weaknesses of a region.
He explained that non-state actors involved in organized crime networks, including terrorist groups, have the potential to endanger global security.
"These non-state actors exploit the weak security of a region, the rampant chaos, and public dissatisfaction with the government," he stated on the same occasion.
The panel discussion, titled "How Terrorism Ends: A Law Enforcement Case Study from Southeast Asia," was part of the annual GSF held in Doha, Qatar, on April 28-30, 2025.
In addition to terrorism, the conference addressed topics such as the role of non-state actors in cyber and information warfare, the influence of the private sector on energy and environmental security, the impact of non-state actors in conflict zones on state sovereignty and stability, as well as strategies for combating organized crime involving illegal networks and cross-border hostage-taking.
This year's conference is themed "The Impact of Non-State Actors on Global Security."
Indonesia's participation in the forum highlighted its positive progress in countering terrorism and violent extremism, offering a model of best practices for the international community.
