Tangerang, Banten (ANTARA) - The newly operational Special Terminal for Hajj and Umrah pilgrims at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport underscores Indonesian government's dedication to providing excellent public service, an minister said.

This initiative aligns with President Prabowo Subianto's directive, emphasizing that Hajj and Umrah journeys should prioritize superior service as a sign of respect for the nation's citizens, SOEs Minister Erick Thohir stated.

“The President stressed that Hajj management demands professionalism and utmost transparency, recognizing it as a deeply spiritual journey for our people,” Thohir said at the terminal's launch on Sunday.

InJourney, the state-owned tourism holding company, has designated Terminal 2F as a central point for streamlined Hajj and Umrah services.

Thohir detailed several facility upgrades, including a spacious waiting area, a 3,000-capacity mosque, halal product and food kiosks, a comfortable departure lounge, and convenient public transportation links.

“Crucially, we've ensured seamless public transportation connections between the airport and the city via both bus and rail, meeting the President's expectations,” he added.

The special terminal will implement the "Makkah Route," a separate immigration process allowing Indonesian Hajj and Umrah pilgrims to complete Saudi Arabian immigration procedures at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport before their departure.

Ten dedicated immigration counters are ready for Indonesian pilgrims, where they will receive Saudi Arabian entry stamps, enabling them to bypass arrival immigration lines in Saudi Arabia.

Currently, national carrier Garuda Indonesia and Lion Air are the sole airlines offering Hajj and Umrah flight services at Terminal 2F.
