“Do not just monitor during ceremonial events. Conduct routine monitoring. I will randomly check in every province,” Minister Wihaji stated during an MBG distribution event for breastfeeding mothers in Tangerang on Monday.
He affirmed that the TPK serve as the front line in ensuring the MBG program's success for pregnant and breastfeeding women. In line with President Prabowo’s directive, MBG for these groups is considered the primary solution to address stunting.
The distribution system and accurate targeting are crucial, with emphasis placed on precise data collection. MBG must be consumed directly by pregnant and breastfeeding women.
“Do not allow the food to be distributed but consumed by those not pregnant or breastfeeding. That is the critical role of the cadres, monitoring,” he remarked.
Given the program's significance, Wihaji, as the initiative's coordinator, continues to collaborate with the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) to ensure that the Nutrition Fulfillment Service Units distribute MBG to the intended recipients.
“We also ensure that the meals provided to pregnant women and breastfeeding mothers are different. Therefore, there should be no mistakes, and we will monitor it,” he stressed.
Meanwhile, Tangerang Regent, Rudy Maesyal Rasyid, said he has instructed relevant departments to collect data on the program's beneficiaries as part of the efforts to combat stunting.
“We support and are committed to ensuring this program is implemented well. Out of more than three thousand beneficiaries, we have already delivered about 10 percent,” he remarked.
