The VNR report, themed "Fostering Inclusive Growth: Advancing a Sustainable and Resilient Indonesia," focuses on five SDGs: good health and well-being, gender equality, decent work and economic growth, life below water, and partnership for the goals.
"We focus on growth targets in accordance with the RPJMN (Medium-Term National Development Plan)," the ministry's expert staff for social affairs and poverty handling, Pungkas Bahjuri Ali, noted in a written statement quoted here on Monday.
The five SDGs highlighted in the 2025 VNR represent the main priorities of the Indonesian government for its future direction.
In this context, the ministry also considers external factors, such as geopolitical pressure and the highly dynamic global economy.
The VNR report is an important instrument for measuring the progress of the implementation of SDGs at the national level, as well as a form of Indonesia's accountability and transparency to the global community.
With an annual economic growth of five percent, he affirmed that Indonesia is starting to direct itself towards green, blue, and circular economic models that aim for a more environmentally friendly and equitable future.
In the same statement, the ministry's Deputy for Food, Natural Resources, and Environment, Leonardo A. A. Teguh Sambodo, underlined that Indonesia has shown progress in marine conservation, the area of which has reached 29.9 million hectares.
Guided by the principle of "no one left behind," the VNR report is being prepared by collecting inputs from various stakeholders to enrich the analysis, increase the relevance of the content, and ensure the representation of all parties' perspectives.
"We do not only want to show what has been achieved but also learn from the challenges and develop better policy directions," Sambodo remarked.
