Indonesia is targeting to submit the document in early June 2025, coinciding with the OECD Ministerial Council Meeting in Paris, France. Several chapters of the IM document have been submitted to the OECD Secretariat for pre-review.
"Since the accession road map was adopted in May 2024, Indonesia has embarked on a rigorous and transformative journey toward OECD membership," Deputy for Coordination of Economic Cooperation and Investment at the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs Edi Prio Pambudi said in a statement released here on Tuesday.
He delivered the remarks during a meeting between the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs and representatives of the OECD Secretariat in Jakarta on Monday.
The ministry has also launched a digital-based document management platform called INA-OECD, which can be used by all related parties to realize a more effective and efficient accession process.
Pambudi emphasized that one of the main objectives of the OECD accession process is the sharing of experiences in the formulation and implementation of policies between developing countries, in this case, Indonesia, and developed countries, which make up the majority of OECD members.

Head of the accession co-ordination unit, Natalie Limbasan, informed that after the IM is submitted, the OECD Secretariat will discuss it internally with related OECD committees to prepare a technical review process.
Each committee will communicate directly with the relevant ministries and agencies to clarify and validate the data and information contained in the IM document.
The process is quite long and will involve many parties: the government, parliament, labor associations, business associations, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and academicians.
The Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs has issued Ministerial Decree Number 232 of 2024 on the Members of Indonesia's National Accession Team.
Non-government stakeholders have also been included in the decree and will be involved based on their capacity and authority.
