Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto and Chinese Premier Li Qiang attended the 2025 Indonesia-China Business Reception in Jakarta on Saturday night.

The event, organized by the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin), aimed to strengthen bilateral economic ties by by connecting business leaders from both countries.

Dressed in black suits, President Prabowo and PM Li arrived at the venue around 7 p.m. local time.

They were welcomed by Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Airlangga Hartarto, Investment and Downstreaming Minister Rosan Roeslani, State Secretary Minister Prasetyo Hadi, and Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Bahlil Lahadalia.

The ministers were joined by chairperson of the National Economic Council (DEN), Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.

Earlier, Minister Roeslani said that PM Li, who landed at the Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base in Jakarta on Saturday afternoon, was accompanied by a delegation of around 60 Chinese investors and business representatives.

Speaking at the air base, he informed that the delegates included both existing and potential investors.

He expressed confidence that the upcoming meeting between Prabowo and Li, scheduled for Sunday (May 25, 2025) morning at the Merdeka Palace, would deepen economic ties and attract greater investment from China.

Regarding the Saturday night business reception, Roeslani noted that the event was expected to attract more than 100 business participants from Indonesia and China.

“This event serves as a highly strategic platform to forge new agreements and advance our economic partnership,” he said.

Premier Li is visiting Indonesia for a series of official engagements, coinciding with the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Indonesia and China.

On Sunday, in addition to the bilateral meeting at the Merdeka Palace, the Chinese premier is also scheduled to meet with members of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR) at the Parliamentary Complex in Jakarta.
