Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesia's President Prabowo Subianto was awarded France's highest honor, the Grand Cross of the Legion of Honour, by French President Emmanuel Macron at the Military Academy, Central Java, on Thursday.

According to a live video streamed on the Indonesian Presidential Secretariat's YouTube channel, the honor was bestowed after the two leaders conducted a troop inspection during a welcoming ceremony for Macron.

After a French delegate pinned the honor badge on President Prabowo's left chest, Macron announced that the French Government had conferred the Grand Cross of the Legion of Honour on him.

The ceremony was then continued with Macron presenting Prabowo a red sash, followed by a handshake and a photo session.
