He made the request during a meeting with the Egyptian Ambassador to Indonesia Yasser Elshemy in Jakarta on Tuesday.
"Some of our people study abroad, including in Egypt. The Apostille service is highly needed for the legalization of their documents, and it will also make it easier for Egypt's citizens who need document legalization to go to Indonesia," he explained here on Thursday.
He also sought Egypt's support for Indonesia's bid to become a member of the Hague Conference on Private International Law (HCCH), considering that Egypt is already an HCCH member.
Though Indonesia is not yet a member, it has become a party connected to the work of the HCCH for the Apostille Convention, following its accession to the convention, he informed.
"Indonesia is applying to become a member of the HCCH and the Service Convention. We hope that Egypt can support us for this membership," he added.
During the meeting, the two parties also discussed increasing cooperation between Indonesia and Egypt in various fields.

The two countries will mark the 80th anniversary of diplomatic relations this year. In view of this, Agtas encouraged economic and trade cooperation in various goods with intellectual property value.
According to the minister, a cooperation agreement with Egypt in the field of intellectual property would boost the economic value of several Indonesian geographical indications.
He also expressed optimism that cooperation with Egypt would have a positive impact on both countries in sectors ranging from the law to the economy.
Meanwhile, Ambassador Elshemy said that Egypt will continue to explore opportunities for cooperation with Indonesia in various fields.
Indonesia and Egypt enjoy close cooperation in various sectors, including exports and imports of palm oil, dates, and vehicle spare parts, among others.
