During the handover ceremony, held at Polri Headquarters in Jakarta, he informed that the police donated 6,169 cows and 3,479 goats.
According to an official statement received here, General Prabowo highlighted that the Qurbani animals would be sent to slaughterhouses at various locations and their meat would be distributed to people in need.
Meanwhile, the head of Polri Headquarters' animal sacrifice organizing committee, Brig. General Budhi Herdi Susianto, informed that the meat of the sacrificial animals would also be distributed to police officers stationed at the headquarters.
"The Qurbani animals will be distributed to those deserving them, including orphans, officers at the police headquarters and residences, and also residents who live in Islamic boarding schools," he said.
He added that several sacrificial animals were slaughtered at the mosque of Polri's College of Police Science (STIK), including two cows donated by General Prabowo.
The mosque also received one cow from Polri deputy chief commissioner, General Ahmad Dofiri; one cow and seven goats from the head of Polri's public relations division, Inspector General Sandi Nugroho; and one cow from the head of STIK, Inspector General Dadang Hartanto.
Susianto emphasized that the animals were slaughtered in compliance with Islamic standards, as well as health, safety, and hygiene protocols.
He added that the process was observed by committee members and several police officers to ensure transparency. The sacrificial meat was later distributed among police staff at the headquarters.
According to Susianto, the activity reflected Polri's commitment to strengthening togetherness on Eid al-Adha.
