BNPB's Director of Emergency Resource Support, Agus Riyanto, stated here on Tuesday that the Jakarta Provincial Government would implement the extension after receiving permission from the landowner of the evacuation site.
“The evacuation service will continue for the next three days, based on an extension permit granted by PT DHI, the owner of the land being used for the evacuation site,” he explained.
The BNPB reported that 3,200 residents were affected by the massive fire that broke out in Kapuk Muara on Friday (June 6).
Currently, some 671 households, or 2,315 individuals, remain in 18 emergency tents set up on private-owned land. Meanwhile, others have sought shelter independently in nearby areas.
Riyanto emphasized that a strategy to accelerate recovery is currently being prepared.
Regarding the recovery plan, he explained that the Jakarta Provincial Government will prioritize rebuilding homes destroyed by the fire once the seven-day emergency response period concludes.
The BNPB also affirmed its readiness to support the local government during the emergency response process and the transition to recovery, including by facilitating coordination among agencies.
The BNPB has also distributed logistics support to affected residents, comprising 100 staple food packages, 100 mattresses, and 10 family tents measuring 4x4 meters.
Earlier, on June 9, Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka visited Kapuk Muara residents affected by the fire and stated that the government is committed to fulfilling all their basic needs during the evacuation period.
