Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesia continues to prioritize the principles of sustainability and inclusiveness in realizing its development goals, Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati emphasized.

“Infrastructure development is not just about connecting roads, ports, and cities but also about mitigating its impacts,” Indrawati stated after attending the International Conference on Infrastructure (ICI) 2025, as quoted from her Instagram account @smindrawati post on Friday.

She stressed that achieving development goals cannot rely solely on the government but it also requires private sector involvement, strategic partnerships, and innovative financing approaches.

To that end, she noted that Indonesia continues to strengthen its supporting policies and financial instruments.

One of the policies is the Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) framework for infrastructure financing since 2022. Through this framework, the government has successfully attracted investments amounting to US$18.8 billion.

Moreover, the government supports Public-Private Partnership (PPP) projects through the Project Development Facility (PDF), the Viability Gap Fund (VGF), and government guarantees via the Indonesia Infrastructure Guarantee Fund (IIGF).

In parallel, the government is also developing the SDG Indonesia One (SIO), which is a blended finance platform managed by PT Sarana Multi Infrastruktur (PT SMI), under the Ministry of Finance.

Through this platform, the government has secured US$3.29 billion in investment commitments from 38 partners, with US$396 million already realized.

Another initiative is the issuance of "green sukuk," or sharia green bonds, both globally and domestically.

Since its initial launch in 2018, the government has issued green sukuk worth US$6.6 billion globally and Rp78.8 trillion domestically.

“Let us continue working together to achieve Indonesia’s development goals while preserving our environment and the planet we call home,” Indrawati stated.
