Jakarta (ANTARA) - The National Counter-Terrorism Agency (BNPT) disseminated information and conducted pre-audit of the security system for the organizers and supporting infrastructure of the international Formula E-Prix Jakarta 2025 race on Wednesday (June 11, 2025) in Jakarta.

BNPT’s Director of Protection Inspector General of Police Imam Margono stated that the activity aims to strengthen national preparedness by safeguarding strategic facilities and infrastructure, in accordance with BNPT Regulation No. 3 of 2020 on Guidelines for Protecting Vital Strategic Facilities and Public Facilities in Preventing Terrorism.

“This year’s event is different compared to previous years. Therefore, we disseminated information to ensure that the personnel and management understand potential threats and the importance of preparedness in facing any possible situation,” Police Inspector General Imam stated during the event, as quoted from a statement confirmed in Jakarta on Friday.

He noted that since 2022, the implementation of the Formula E event has shown positive results in terms of security and smooth operations and its success is expected to continue into the 2025 edition.

However, due to changes in the organizing team from the previous year, he emphasized that this dissemination of information was crucial.

He affirmed that the socialization and pre-audit of the security system are part of the efforts to protect vital facilities, focusing on understanding potential threats and mitigation procedures that all organizing parties must follow.

“We want to ensure that this event is not only safe but also runs smoothly according to the security standards outlined in BNPT Regulation No. 3 of 2020,” he explained.

Meanwhile, Deputy Operations Director of the Jakarta E-Prix Irawan Sucahyono emphasized that the Formula E-Prix Jakarta is the largest international event in the capital city this year.

“This event is being watched by the whole world. All drivers are from abroad, and the organizers are a collaboration between Indonesia and foreign entities. Hence, BNPT's role is crucial in ensuring that Indonesia is ready and safe,” Irawan stated during the same event.

He also highlighted that BNPT's support over the last three years has provided a vital sense of security, not only for participants and spectators but also for potential investors.

“We want to show the world that Jakarta is ready to host major events with a professional security system,” he remarked.

With thorough preparation through the dissemination of information and pre-audit, the Formula E-Prix Jakarta 2025 is expected to be successful and secure, as well as bring pride to Indonesia on the global stage.

The Jakarta E-Prix 2025 race is scheduled to take place on Saturday (June 21) at the Jakarta International E-Prix Circuit (JIEC) in Ancol, North Jakarta.
