"We are mitigating by continuously collecting data," Minister Karding stated while inaugurating the Migrant Workers' Golden Village in three villages in Wonosobo, as stated by the ministry, here on Wednesday.
Karding explained that his ministry continues to monitor around two thousand Indonesian migrant workers in Qatar.
The ministry has also provided guidance and information to help avoid the impacts of conflict following a retaliatory attack by Iran on a United States military base in Qatar.
In addition to data collection, the ministry offers information on precautionary measures that migrant workers can take if an incident occurs.
Furthermore, Minister Karding stated that the ministry has encouraged Indonesian migrant workers in Qatar to relocate from areas at risk of conflict to safer locations in order to maintain safety.
"We are trying to encourage them to move to a safe place. I have instructed the Director General of Protection (at the P2MI Ministry) to coordinate with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or the Indonesian Embassy in Qatar," he remarked.
"This morning, they reported on the preparation of mitigation steps," he noted.
Minister Karding ensured that the ministry will continue to provide protection to all Indonesian migrant workers in conflict areas.
"We will ensure that all Indonesian migrant workers in conflict-affected areas, such as Qatar, are protected. We will safeguard them and be present as a country to protect them," he stressed.
Iran's retaliatory attack on the United States military base at Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar, took place on Monday (June 23), following a massive US attack on three Iranian nuclear facilities on Sunday (June 22).
