"We have prepared hundreds of officers to conduct population data collection in the IKN delineation area,"
Penajam Paser Utara (ANTARA) - A total of 840 officers are ready to conduct a population census for Nusantara City (IKN), which spans parts of Penajam Paser Utara District and Kutai Kartanegara District in East Kalimantan Province.

"We have prepared hundreds of officers to conduct a population census for the IKN delineation area," Deputy for Social, Cultural, and Community Empowerment of the IKN Authority Alimuddin stated in Sepaku Sub-district, Penajam Paser Utara District, on Thursday.

The IKN Authority is working with Statistics Indonesia (BPS) to conduct a population census, aiming to gather accurate and comprehensive basic data as a foundation for formulating future IKN development policies.

The population census is scheduled to take place in stages by officers from July 1 to 31, 2025, covering the entire IKN delineation area.

Of the total officers, 334 participated in the training from June 19 to 21, 2025, and 506 took part from June 23 to 25, 2025.

He explained that the officers have received technical training, developed sound communication skills, and learned professional ethics to ensure the success of the population census.

The officers were recruited from residents within the IKN delineation area, Samarinda City, Balikpapan City, college students, and BPS employees from East Kalimantan Province, Kutai Kartanegara District, and Penajam Paser Utara District.

Communities in the IKN delineation area are advised to provide information only to officers who present official identification.

"We invite all people in the IKN delineation area to support the population census by providing correct and open information to officers," he stated.

If the population census is not completed by July 31, 2025, the IKN Authority will extend the data collection period.
