To maintain public order and ensure the President’s safety during the event, the police plan to deploy approximately 5,800 officers at the main venue and other key locations, including toll roads.
“Since the President will attend the event, it is imperative for us to exert all-out security measures,” chief of the Polri’s Traffic Corps, Inspector General Agus Suryonugroho, said in a statement issued here on Saturday.
He also revealed plans to set up a command post to control the flow of information and coordinate field operations, with a particular focus on traffic flow and security in parking spaces for guests.
The Polri will divide key areas into several zones: Monas will be designated the green zone, access roads yellow zones, toll roads and Jakarta’s entry points red zones, and strategic locations like the Gelora Bung Karno complex and Sudirman Central Business District will be special zones.
“We have numerous locations to secure,” he emphasized.
Suryonugroho appealed to members of the public to avoid Monas and nearby areas on the day of the event, adding that temporary traffic arrangements will begin at 1 a.m. local time.
He further said that information on alternative routes will be provided on the official Instagram account of the Greater Jakarta Police, @TMCPoldaMetro.
He expressed confidence that with proper preparations and cross-sector coordination, all Bhayangkara Day activities will proceed smoothly and in an orderly manner.
