Jakarta (ANTARA) - Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Ribka Haluk has urged regional governments to pay attention to the implementation of the government’s strategic programs, namely the Free Health Screening (CKG) and the three million houses programs.

She emphasized the importance of regional governments supporting the two programs to achieve the set targets.

“We will check it continuously,” she stressed during a coordination meeting on regional inflation control in Jakarta on Monday.

Regarding the three million houses program, she appealed to regional governments to issue a regional head regulation on the land and building acquisition duty (BPHTB) exemption and the building approval fees exemption for low-income people.

She underlined that the housing program is one of President Prabowo Subianto’s quick-win programs, so it needs attention from many parties.

Haluk also expressed the hope that the Ministry of Housing and Settlement Areas will continue to promote the program.

Meanwhile, Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin highlighted the important role of regional governments in supporting the implementation of CKG.

According to the minister, the government is currently seeking to target students under the program.

The involvement of schools is aimed at ensuring the program’s implementation does not get limited to community health centers.

He noted that starting in July 2025, as many as 53 million school-age children from around 282 thousand schools will be targeted by the free health screening program.

To this end, he expressed the hope that regional governments would issue a circular urging local agencies to support the program.

The minister noted that the implementation of CKG at schools is an opportunity to revitalize the medical devices available at schools.

In addition, he highlighted the importance of schools’ participation in building health awareness from an early age.

“To create a healthy community, we must teach children a healthy lifestyle from an early age,” he said.
