Chairperson of the board of commissioners of the OJK Mahendra Siregar said that the initiatives are designed to ensure more transparent, accountable, and consumer-focused governance within the sector to boost public trust by providing accessible and verifiable information.
“This is a step that must be taken and accelerated. Our commitment at OJK includes implementing various information systems, applications, reporting systems, licensing processes, and eventually, supervision -- all under a unified regulatory framework,” he informed here on Monday.
The Indonesian Insurance Agent Database is meant to serve as a single authoritative source of data on the legal status and identities of officially registered insurance agents.
The system has been integrated with the OJK’s digital licensing platform, the Integrated Licensing and Registration System (SPRINT), and uses QR codes for agent identification.
The information is accessible to the public, insurance companies, associations, and the OJK, thus offering greater protection to consumers.
Meanwhile, the Indonesian Insurance Policy Database offers detailed data on individual policies across insurance sectors, including life and general insurance, which is reported monthly via the OJK’s Online Reporting Application (APOLO).

The initiative is designed to strengthen risk-based supervision, support policy guarantee programs, and enhance data governance and transparency within the industry.
The database includes crucial information about policyholders, the benefits they are entitled to, and how risks are managed.
“What we are doing is not just a transformation in the industry, specifically in insurance, but also within OJK itself,” Siregar said.
Meanwhile, Executive Director for Insurance, Guarantee, and Pension Fund Supervision at the OJK Ogi Prastomiyono emphasized that the success of both databases would heavily rely on the active participation of all stakeholders, including associations, insurance companies, and policyholders.
He expressed the hope that through multi-stakeholder collaboration, the databases will lay the foundation for a more inclusive, modern, and sustainable insurance industry in Indonesia.
“Today’s launch is just the beginning. The effectiveness of these systems will only reach their full potential if all stakeholders implement them consistently and collaboratively,” Prastomiyono added.
