He delivered the remarks on the 79th anniversary of Bhayangkara on July 1, 2025.
“Happy 79th Bhayangkara Day to all ranks of the Polri throughout the country,” he said in Jakarta on Tuesday.
He further said he hopes that on its 79th Anniversary, Polri can continue to enforce the law and ensure public order in Indonesia.
“Happy 79th Bhayangkara. Polri for the people,” he added.
Polri officially commenced the ceremony marking the 79th Bhayangkara Day at the National Monument (Monas) area in Central Jakarta on Tuesday.
According to ANTARA’s on-site observations, the ceremony began with the announcer introducing the parade commanders and platoon leaders.
At 7:41 a.m. local time (WIB), a moment of tribute was observed for the Tribrata, the core values of the Indonesian Police, led by the ceremony commander.
At 7:48 a.m., President Prabowo Subianto arrived at the venue in a Pindad Maung tactical vehicle, followed shortly by Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka.
By 7:57 a.m., Prabowo and Gibran, accompanied by chief of the National Police, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, had taken their seats at the main grandstand.
After the ceremony commander paid his respects to the President and Vice President, Prabowo and General Pol. Sigit boarded the command car and circled the ceremony site.
A number of prominent figures also attended the ceremony, including former president Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, former vice president Ma’ruf Amin, House Speaker Puan Maharani, and Sinta Nuriyah Wahid, the widow of former president Abdurrahman Wahid.
Several activities were held earlier to commemorate the anniversary of the Polri. They included the distribution of basic necessities, competitions, and pilgrimages to the Heroes’ Cemetery.
