Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto attended a state luncheon hosted by Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva at the Itamaraty Palace, the headquarters of Brazil’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in Brasília on Wednesday, July 9.

Prabowo’s office released several photos showing him and Lula seated side by side at a roundtable.

“The state luncheon took place in a warm and cordial atmosphere, reflecting the ever-growing diplomatic ties between Indonesia and Brazil,” the office noted in a statement on Thursday.

The friendly tone was evident in the photos, which show President Lula conversing with his Indonesian counterpart while resting his hand on the back of a chair.

The luncheon also provided an opportunity for Indonesian ministers — including Coordinating Minister for Food Zulkifli Hasan, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia, and Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology Brian Yuliarto — to engage in discussions with senior Brazilian officials.

Prabowo’s office described his presence at the luncheon as a strategic diplomatic move to deepen Indonesia–Brazil cooperation in sectors such as agriculture, defense, technology, and global affairs.

Earlier in the day, Prabowo visited the Palácio do Planalto, where he and President Lula co-chaired a bilateral meeting addressing issues at the bilateral, regional, and global levels.

The high-level meeting concluded with both countries agreeing to strengthen their multifaceted partnership, focusing on trade and investment, agriculture and food security, clean energy, and agrarian affairs.

Both nations also reaffirmed their full support for Palestinian independence and the two-state solution.
