The award was presented to General Prabowo by ITUC-AP Secretary General Shoya Yoshida during the event at the Gelora Bung Karno sports complex here on Thursday evening.
General Prabowo expressed his gratitude to Yoshida for the award, stating that it reflects support for the synergistic collaboration that the police have established and maintained with various stakeholders, including trade unions, in Indonesia.
He highlighted the importance of maintaining the synergistic collaboration so that stakeholders in Indonesia's workforce can better navigate global dynamics.
On the sidelines of the event, the leader of the All-Indonesian Workers Union Confederation (KSPSI), Andi Gani Nena Wea, congratulated General Prabowo, saying that the ITUC-AP award signifies recognition for his commitment to protecting workers' rights.
Under Prabowo's exceptional leadership, the National Police established a desk for handling workforce issues through a persuasive approach and assisting those affected by layoffs in finding new employment, he remarked.
Andi stated that in the near future, KSPSI and the National Police would again help about 1,500 recently laid-off job seekers find employment at companies operating in Ciberon, West Java, and Brebes, Central Java.
