“The presence of Polri’s SPPGs reflects our contribution to implementing the MBG program initiated by President Prabowo Subianto,” he said during the inauguration of the Jembrana Resort Police SPPG in Jembrana district, Bali, on Tuesday.
He noted that Polri currently operates 12 SPPGs, with 21 others undergoing the verification process. He added that additional kitchens are being set up, but did not specify the number.
The Polri chief emphasized the importance of all MBG stakeholders adhering to strict standards regarding meal and raw material quality to prevent food poisoning.
“We will strive to pay close attention to meal quality to prevent poisoning,” he affirmed.
He added that the establishment of the Jembrana Police SPPG is in line with the Bali Regional Police’s target of setting up 10 such kitchens this year.
Meanwhile, the chief of Jembrana Police, Adjunct Senior Commissioner Kadek Citra Dewi Suparwati, informed that the newly inaugurated SPPG is expected to serve the nutritional needs of up to 3,500 students across 11 schools.
She said that the development of the kitchen began in February 2025 using funding from the police cooperative.
Earlier, head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), Dadan Hindayana, reported that the MBG program has so far reached 4.97 million beneficiaries through 1,785 SPPGs across Indonesia.
Speaking in Jakarta on Monday, he said that the kitchens are helping the government reduce poverty by employing around 68 thousand workers—over 60 percent of whom are women aged 30 to 50.
He also emphasized the need to increase the number of SPPGs to meet President Prabowo’s target of serving 82.9 million beneficiaries by the end of the year.
