“The National Police, through Korlantas and regional traffic directorates, is conducting Operasi Patuh, a regionally coordinated traffic safety operation running from July 14 to July 27, 2025,” Operations Chief at Korlantas Polri Commissioner Aries Syahbudin noted in a statement here on Monday.
The operation aims to improve road safety, order, and traffic flow, referred to locally as kamseltibcarlantas. It also supports the upcoming National Road Traffic and Transport Safety Day, observed annually on September 19.

The campaign features a three-pronged approach: preemptive, preventive, and repressive efforts implemented simultaneously.
Preventive efforts include community outreach such as face-to-face safety education with two- and four-wheeled vehicle groups, informal “coffee with drivers” gatherings, and public awareness activities highlighting the importance of road safety.
Commissioner Aries stated that the operation specifically targets violations known to cause traffic accidents, such as riding against traffic, not wearing helmets, using mobile phones while driving, and underage driving.
“Law enforcement will focus on high-risk behaviors that often lead to accidents,” he stated.
