“I proudly campaign and declare that crackers from Bangka Belitung are the best in the world,” he said while officially opening the 2025 KUKM Fest at the Governor’s Office yard here on Tuesday.
He informed that crackers made by local SMEs in the province are delicious, savory, and of high quality, making them a potential export product from the region, nicknamed Serumpun Sebalai.
“I do not want anything, I just ask for the crackers, because Bangka’s crackers are truly delicious and have become my favorite,” he added.
Setiadi expressed the hope that cooperatives in Bangka Belitung Islands would grow to be among the most advanced in the country, alongside the other 37 provinces, considering the region’s strong local culinary potential.
Specialties from the region include crackers and otak-otak or grilled fish cake.
“Bangka Belitung cuisine is unmatched, and the crackers are made from fresh fish and squid; they are also processed with love,” he remarked.
Meanwhile, acting head of the Bangka Belitung Provincial Office for Cooperatives and SMEs, Muslim El Hakim Kurniawan, said that the 2025 KUKM Fest is being held for two days or from July 15 to July 16, 2025, to promote local SME products.
“The presence of the Cooperatives Minister here provides motivation for the SME actors to boost production, foster innovation and creativity, and expand promotion and marketing of the region’s specialties,” he added.
