Representatives from both philanthropic agencies held a meeting at the Baznas office in Jakarta on Monday (July 14), according to a Baznas statement received on Wednesday.
Head of Baznas Noor Achmad emphasized that the agency has a longstanding partnership with Malaysian counterparts and has been invited on multiple occasions to assist in improving the management of Islamic philanthropic funds in the country.
“This kind of activity (meeting) is important for strengthening relations and exchanging experiences. We at Baznas have devised various schemes to help alms beneficiaries transform into almsgivers,” he affirmed.
Achmad underlined that the programs his agency implements align seamlessly with President Prabowo Subianto’s eight primary missions, collectively known as Asta Cita, especially in terms of job creation.
The official also commended the role of alms managers and distributors, stating that their work embodies the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad.
“I appreciate the visit from LZS and offer my warm greetings to all their officials,” Achmad concluded.
Meanwhile, Chief Operating Officer of LZS, Ahmad Fadhil bin Hassan, expressed confidence that his agency would learn many valuable lessons from Baznas.
“Thank you for the warm welcome. Our visit here is for educational purposes, as we believe we can learn many things from Baznas and adopt them,” he noted in the same statement.
He emphasized that LZS is eager to emulate the ways and techniques that Baznas uses to leverage ZIS for various purposes, such as disaster mitigation and the empowerment of alms beneficiaries.
“We are hoping for ongoing collaboration with Baznas, and we would like to invite you to visit Selangor,” he told Baznas officials.
