Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Manpower ensured that the wage subsidy assistance (BSU) disbursement continues to run to maintain people's purchasing power.

The ministry's Director General of Industrial Relations and Workers' Social Security, Indah Anggoro Putri, noted that in addition to maintaining the purchasing power amid economic pressures, the BSU is intended to boost national economic growth.

"We want to ensure that workers continue to have purchasing power so that households' consumption continues to grow," Putri noted in her statement in Jakarta on Wednesday.

She explained that the assistance amounts to a total of Rp600 thousand (around US$36.84) for two months, specifically June and July.

According to Putri, the BSU is disbursed in stages through state-owned banks, Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI), and the state-run postal company Pos Indonesia.

To date, the disbursement to beneficiaries has reached a coverage rate of 82.69 percent.

"We continue to strive to expedite the BSU disbursement so that the assistance can soon reach workers in need. We continue to intensify coordination with the banks and Pos Indonesia to ensure the distribution process runs smoothly and reaches its target," she remarked.

Putri also reminded workers to check their BSU recipient status only through the official website of the Ministry of Manpower at https://bsu.kemnaker.go.id/#pengecekan.

She further emphasized the need for the public to be cautious toward unofficial links and the risk of digital-based fraud.

Deputy Minister of Manpower Immanuel Ebenezer stated on Wednesday that as of July 15, 2025, the BSU has been received by 13,189,660 people out of 15 million target beneficiaries.

He noted that the total budget readied for the program is Rp8 trillion (around US$491.1 million).

Provision of the BSU follows Manpower Minister’s Regulation Number 5 of 2025.

According to the regulation, the beneficiaries need to meet certain criteria: they must be Indonesian citizens, earn a maximum monthly wage of Rp3.5 million (around US$214.95), and be active members of the state insurer BPJS Ketenagakerjaan’s insurance program as of April 2025.
