Accompanied by Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) Minister Maman Abdurrahman, he symbolically launched the special kitchens at the headquarters of the Police Mobile Brigade (Brimob) in Depok city, West Java, on Thursday.
“Today, we inaugurated 28 SPPGs, including the one here at the Brimob Headquarters,” he said.
The police chief added that the new kitchens are expected to cater to the nutritional needs of approximately 96 thousand beneficiaries and generate 1,300 employment opportunities for local residents.
He added that Polri has so far initiated the development of 195 SPPGs nationwide, with some still in the construction or verification stage.
“We hope that the 195 SPPGs will be able to cover 682 thousand beneficiaries and create job opportunities for 9,570 residents,” General Prabowo said.
He emphasized that all the kitchens are required to strictly adhere to food quality and safety standards to ensure the meals they prepare remain fresh and safe.
“That way, all the meals we prepare will be served fresh and hygienically to improve our children’s nutritional intake,” he added.
Meanwhile, MSMEs Minister Abdurrahman praised the police for their contribution to the MBG program.
He stressed that the national program provides more than just nutritious meals — it also offers benefits to MSMEs across the country.
“Micro, small, and medium enterprises in various regions can reap economic benefits from this program by participating in the supply chains (for food materials),” he explained.
The minister expressed confidence that strong collaboration among state institutions would help broaden the program’s reach and benefits.
