Jakarta (ANTARA) - Law Minister Supratman Andi Agtas has confirmed the legal recognition of 80,068 Red and White Village Cooperatives (KDMP/KKMP) set up nationwide under President Prabowo Subianto’s Asta Cita program.

In a statement issued in Jakarta on Saturday, he also praised all stakeholders who helped secure legal status for the cooperatives.

“Days before the inauguration of the Red and White Cooperatives by the President, the Ministry of Law and Human Rights, through the director general of general legal administration (AHU), has legitimatized 80,068 Red and White Village Cooperatives,” he said.

“This is a collaboration led by the Coordinating Ministry for Food, and assisted by the other agencies such as the Ministry of Home Affairs, Cooperatives Ministry, National Police, Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI/Polri), and local governments,” he added.

The cooperative push is aimed at shoring up the economy and ensuring equitable development in the country, he informed.

“The Red and White Cooperatives are expected to become a strategic foundation for growing the people’s economy,” he added.

Earlier, the director general of AHU, Widodo, said that of the total 80,068 cooperatives, as many as 79,883 are new, while 185 are existing cooperatives that have been converted into Red and White Village Cooperatives.

“This achievement, since the registration service opened on May 1, 2025, is clear evidence of the effectiveness of the Ministry of Law’s digital transformation of public services in accelerating the government’s priority programs focused on economic equality from the village level,” Widodo said.

The cooperatives will be inaugurated by President Subianto on July 21, 2025, in Central Java.
