The ministry’s secretary, Imam Machdi, underlined in Jakarta on Monday that accurate policies can only be created with valid, up-to-date, and accountable data.
Annual family data updation contributes significantly to the success of national priority programs such as stunting reduction, human resource quality improvement, and strengthening family resilience, he pointed out.
Without accurate data, the government will struggle to establish effective policies.
Machdi further informed that his ministry is currently developing a special interface for precise policies based on official and integrated data, including data from the PK-25.
The system will allow policies to be monitored and evaluated continuously. It will also allow rapid adjustments if deviations are detected.
“The PK-25 data collection includes demographic information, as well as information on family planning, family welfare, and family members. These provide a strong foundation for designing, budgeting, and carrying out targeted policies at all levels,” he said.
He also emphasized the importance of cross-sector collaboration in ensuring the success of the PK-25 data update.
He said that building synergy between ministries and regional governments as well as strengthening data literacy are crucial aspects for inclusive and comprehensive data collection.
The Ministry of Population and Family Development will update family data through the PK-25, which will be carried out simultaneously from July 22 to August 21, 2025, and target 12.9 Indonesian families.
The family data is expected to be the basis for interventions to eliminate extreme poverty, reduce stunting, and tackle other population issues to help Indonesia reap its demographic dividend.
