“As the wise say, ‘It takes a village to raise a child.’ This reminds us that raising children is a shared responsibility, including the responsibility of the state,” he said in an Instagram post to mark National Children’s Day (HAN) 2025 on Wednesday.
One concrete manifestation of the government’s responsibility is the MBG program, which has now reached 6.7 million Indonesian children, he added.
According to Wijaya, the government will continue to expand the program’s scope to meet the nutritional needs of children nationwide equally.
In addition, he conveyed the government’s concerns about safeguarding children in the digital space.
With the enactment of the Government Regulation on the Governance of Electronic System Implementation for Child Protection, the government hopes that Indonesian children can grow up in a safe and healthy digital ecosystem, he said.
“We must ensure that every Indonesian child has the opportunity to grow up healthy, intelligent, and protected. Because in the hands of our children lies the hope for a Golden Indonesia 2045,” he emphasized.
This year’s National Children’s Day commemoration marked the 41st anniversary of the day, which was first proclaimed in 1984.
The overall theme for this year’s commemoration was “Great Children, Strong Indonesia Towards a Golden Indonesia 2045.” It highlighted the importance of investing in the younger generation through sub-themes such as early childhood nutrition, digital skills, inclusive education, and protection from violence and child marriage.
The government also launched an oval-shaped red and white logo to mark the day, which showed three children, including one with a disability, raising the Red and White Flag. The logo symbolized hopes and aspirations that can be realized through enthusiasm and family support.
