“We hope ANTARA journalists can help bridge the gap between the government and the people by translating these programs for public understanding,” Kartika, popularly known as Tiko, stated during his visit to ANTARA Heritage Center (AHC) in Jakarta on Thursday.
Tiko commended ANTARA's efforts in packaging various government programs into engaging social media content.
He noted that ANTARA had successfully adapted its coverage of government programs on social media platforms using a more modern style, allowing it to reach a wider audience.
“I am pleased to see a national news agency, which serves as a formal government outlet, present news content in a more contemporary format,” he affirmed.
Tiko expressed hope that ANTARA continues to stay relevant in keeping up with the times, as public communication is vital for securing support for government initiatives.
He also supported ANTARA’s efforts to engage the younger generation, especially those active on social media platforms.
Through well-crafted news coverage, Tiko believes the public can better appreciate the benefits of government programs and relate to them on a personal level.
“I request that whenever there is a government program, ANTARA not only reports it but also provides FAQs so that when the public seeks more information, further explanations are readily available,” Tiko stressed.
To maintain its relevance among younger audiences, ANTARA's President Director, Akhmad Munir, stated that ANTARA actively anticipates technological and informational shifts by mapping out the demographics of tech users and news readers.
This strategic mapping has led to the development of various products such as podcasts, infographics, and other digital formats.
“In recent years, we have been promoting initiatives to ensure ANTARA stays relevant. We will continue to push forward so that ANTARA remains present and impactful in an increasingly challenging media landscape,” Munir stated.
