“We do not just want to bring technology, but transform the way the government operates, including in social services implementation, like in Free Nutritious Meals (MBG),” the ministry’s director for development data and digital government, Dini Maghfirra, said.
As per a statement received from the ministry here on Monday, her administration is pursuing strategic collaboration with the Corporation for Financing and Promoting Technology (FPT), Vietnam, in digital transformation.
The move follows the inking of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on improving Indonesia’s digital economy.
Maghfirra highlighted the urgent need for digital transformation for national economic reform and the achievement of the Golden Indonesia vision by 2045.
The upcoming Working Session on Digital Transformation Cooperation with FPT Vietnam is deemed an important moment to strengthen cross-country collaboration, particularly in creating integrated, inclusive, AI-based data governance and public services.
She said she expects the use of artificial intelligence (AI) to improve the effectiveness of the MBG program, starting from the supply chain, distribution of meals, to monitoring the development of beneficiaries.
In the same statement, the CEO of FPT Software Indonesia (FPT Corporation), Tung Nguyen Hoang, lauded the collaborative move and stressed that international digital partnerships must be based on a shared vision that benefits the general public.
He said that the corporation is ready to share its best practices, for instance, in AI development, semiconductors, and digital government, to help Indonesia achieve digital transformation.
Hoang then listed some technologies that have been implemented in Vietnam, such as the Libra platform for digitizing legal documents, the use of AI for smart city development, and virtual assistant-based healthcare with medical profile integration.
The collaboration with Indonesia will cover the development of an implementation guide and AI-based monitoring system prototype, besides a comparative study in Vietnam to support Indonesia’s digitalization agenda, he informed.
