Angat, Philippines (ANTARA) – PT Wijaya Karya Beton Tbk (WIKA Beton) has marked a new international achievement by making its first delivery of Precast Concrete Lining (PC Lining), commonly referred to as Precast Tunnel segments, from its concrete plant in Angat, Bulacan, to the Metro Manila Subway Project Package CP102 site in the Philippines on 29 July 2025. This milestone further strengthens WIKA Beton’s strategic footprint in penetrating international markets, particularly in the rapidly developing Southeast Asian region. The inaugural shipment of PC Lining is the result of a strategic consortium between WIKA Beton and Sta. Clara International Corporation, assigned to build the underground track structures for one of the Philippines’ major rail infrastructure projects.

“This momentum is a testament to WIKA Beton’s readiness, as a recognized Concrete Expert, to become a player in the global industry. Through strategic alliances, we are able to create value not only from market expansion, but also through knowledge sharing, world-class production process standardization, and enhancements in efficiency and product quality at the international level,” stated Kuntjara, President Director of WIKA Beton. This synergy produces innovations in on-site production processes, adoption of cutting-edge technology, and the improvement of local human resources capabilities, providing added value for all stakeholders in both Indonesia and the Philippines.

WIKA Beton’s recent success aligns with the business efforts of its parent company, PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk, which has previously entered international markets. The Metro Manila Subway is a national strategic project of the Philippine Government that will transform mass transportation in the capital area, with a total track length of 33km and supported by 17 stations connecting Valenzuela City to Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA).

The PHP488.5 billion project is projected to become the backbone of mass transportation solutions across metropolitan Manila. The presence of the first subway in the Philippines is expected to cut travel time from Quezon City to NAIA from 70 minutes to just 35 minutes, serving over 519,000 passengers per day when fully operational in 2028.

In this project, WIKA Beton is fulfilling the demand for high-quality precast concrete PC Lining for complex and challenging underground tunnel segments. As the largest precast concrete producer in Indonesia and even Southeast Asia, WIKA Beton always prioritizes technological excellence and proven innovation in various national infrastructure projects. The successful penetration of the Philippine market is expected to further solidify WIKA Beton’s position as a solutions provider in the concrete industry, both regionally and globally.
