According to an official statement from the Indonesian National Paralympic Committee received here on Tuesday, Leani Ratri Oktila once again showcased her dominance as the queen of the para-badminton world by winning two gold medals in the women’s singles SL4 and women’s doubles SL3-SU5 events, partnering with Khalimatus Sadiyah.
Sadiyah also secured another gold in the mixed doubles SL3-SU5 category alongside Fredy Setiawan.
The other two gold medals were clinched by the duo Subhan and Rina Marlina in the mixed doubles SH6 event and Dheva Anrimusthi in the men’s singles SU5 category.
For Anrimusthi, this gold marked a significant improvement after winning bronze at the 2024 Paris Paralympics.
In addition to the gold medals, two silver medals were secured by Qonitah Ikhtiar Syakuroh in the women’s singles SL3 and the pair Dheva Anrimusthi and Briliansyah Prawiranegara in the men’s doubles SU5.
Three bronze medals were contributed by Fredy Setiawan in the men’s singles SL4, Khalimatus Sadiyah in the women’s singles SL4, and Rina Marlina in the women’s singles SH6.
Indonesian Para Badminton Coordinator Jarot Hernowo assessed that the team’s achievements met expectations.
“The five gold, two silver, and three bronze medals are in line with the targets set before departing for the championship,” he remarked.
Furthermore, he stated that the gold-winning categories are projected to become Indonesia’s strengths for the upcoming 2028 Los Angeles Paralympic Games.
