“As part of the Indonesian nation, we, at the DPR, fully support the government’s Free Health Checks program,” he stated at the Parliamentary Complex in Jakarta on Monday.
He also praised the government for successfully promoting the medical initiative, transforming people’s early skepticism into growing enthusiasm.
In this context, Dasco cited data showing that around 69 million citizens have registered on the SATUSEHAT mobile application to access the CKG program since its launch on February 10 this year.
“Based on our observation, people were initially reluctant to join the program. However, after proper dissemination, the number of beneficiaries has continued to rise, reaching 69 million,” Dasco noted.
He expressed hope that the program will extend its reach to even more people from all levels of society.
An expert from the Presidential Communication Office (PCO), Adita Irawati, confirmed that the government intends to proceed with its plan to expand the program to cover students in schools overseen by the Primary and Secondary Education Ministry or the Religious Affairs Ministry.
“The government aims to ensure that all citizens of Indonesia have access to health services,” she remarked in Jakarta on Sunday (August 3).
She noted that the exams offered for schoolchildren are not much different from those for the general public, including eye and ear screenings as well as checks for anemia and communicable and non-communicable diseases.
The initial phase of the expansion began on Monday, involving 12 general and Islamic schools across various regions. The goal is to reach at least 282 thousand educational institutions.
Since its launch in February, the CKG program has served over 16 million citizens nationwide as of August 1, with a target of reaching at least 281 million people throughout the country.
Before Monday's expansion, the government had already implemented the program for over eight thousand children attending schools operated under the Sekolah Rakyat (People's Schools) program since July 14.
