"I can confirm that discussions regarding the TKDN reform are nearly at the final stage, and tomorrow, the final document will be sent to the Ministry of Law for immediate harmonization," Minister Kartasasmita stated at the Ministry of Industry office in Jakarta on Wednesday.
He noted that the Ministry of Industry is conducting a public hearing by inviting business associations to gather input on the draft of the new ministerial regulation on the TKDN policy.
"We want the calculation of TKDN certificates to also be part of our efforts to create a comfortable business environment. Ease of doing business must be accessible. This way, those who need TKDN certificates will be able to obtain them easily, affordably, and quickly," he elaborated.
"There are a lot of changes. We are waiting for the release date. The changes must lead to cost-effectiveness, convenience, and speed," he added.
As earlier reported, Director General of Metal, Machinery, Transportation Equipment, and Electronics (ILMATE) at the Ministry of Industry, Setia Diarta, stated that one of the points of the reform is that the TKDN policy is not targeted at specific countries.
He stated that the new regulation will still cover aspects related to labor, overhead costs, and the use of raw materials.
He remarked that revisions to the TKDN regulation will make the calculation process easier, cheaper, and faster.
